Open Mic Showcase with The Voice UK

We were approached by The Voice who asked Horus Music to arrange a night of music for them while they scout artists for the next series of the show.

We had a very limited time scale during which to organise the venue (The Shed, Leicester) and promote the event to local artists as well as inviting some of our own artists along for the opportunity to perform in front of 2 representatives from the show.

The event took place last night (Tuesday 7th June 2016) and the fast-pace of the night meant that I was also required to take on Stage Manager duties too to ensure the smooth running of the night.

The night proved to be a success with artists scheduled back-to-back from 7.30pm till 11pm and we had great feedback from the performers, the venue and from ITV. A few artists have even reached out to thank us for staging the event and inviting them down, and asked to be involved if we stage any more events in the future.

The main thing I wanted to get out of the night (especially with it all being so last minute) was for Horus Music to start getting our name out more locally, which we were able to achieve and more.
There was even a reporter from The Leicester Mercury who came down to review the event. He spoke to myself as well as 2 performers who turned out to be 2 of our artists (Jonezy and Ian Lee).
